Substance misuse and alcohol
We have a whole range of services across the district aimed at treating and caring for people with alcohol or drug problems.
These are known as WISMS which stands for Wakefield Integrated Substance Misuse Services. They include community based drugs teams, a district alcohol team, drug intervention programmes, support for people who have had or have a drug problem to help them to gain jobs or training, structured day programmes, service user forums and much more.
To find out more about these services click on the links that are listed on the left-hand menu bar.
The PCT is one of eight sites selected by the Government to pilot innovative new ways to help drug addicts recover and achieve a sustained recovery.
