Quality Improvement
NHS Wakefield District is committed to ensuring that patients get safe, high quality, modern healthcare. We work to ensure that patients are treated with compassion, dignity and respect and get effective services.
Our Quality Team checks healthcare services to make sure that they are safe and meet required standards. This includes monitoring;
- regulations set by the healthcare watchdog (the Care Quality Commission)
- if services meet national best practice (eg NICE)
- rates of infection (eg MRSA) and standards of cleanliness
- patient accidents
- how services treat patients and families (eg patient experience / dignity and respect)
The Quality Team also provide advice and support to make sure that quality, and not just cost, is considered when new services are commissioned.
